It depends on whether you’re in-state or out of state. UT reserves 90% of their admissions for Texas residents. Even if you get in, there’s an even lower chance of getting into the CS program, especially if you’re out of state. And, of course, if you’re out of state, you have to pay triple the tuition of in-state. It’s seriously not worth it.
With CS, prestige is really meaningless anyway, because the degree is ridiculously employable.
Do you mean National Merit Commended or Semifinalist? If you are a semifinalist, you should probably check out other universities with big scholarships for NM.
