My chances at Lafayette College versus my chances at Lehigh University?

<p>What do you guys think my percent chances are if I apply to Lafayette early decision compared to my chances if I apply to Lehigh University early decision?</p>

<p>Is it about 30% at Lafayette and 20% at Lehigh? 20% Lafayette and 15% Lehigh? Are my chances at both even lower? Even higher, maybe? And is the difference in my chances at both schools that significantly different (i.e. 5% or more)?</p>

<p>What do you guys think?</p>

SAT (taken twice): 2030 (650R, 700M, 680W)
Unweighted GPA: 3.15
Weighted GPA: 3.25
Class Size: 600 (public school)
Class rank: top 17-20%</p>

<p>Honors Math courses 8th through 12th grade, 3 AP's: AP Statistics (4), AP Physics (2), and AP Computer Science (1).</p>

<p>My grade trend is essentially 3.40 freshman year, 2.80 sophomore year, 3.60 junior year, and 3.50 senior year.</p>

<p>EC's: High school baseball, special needs brother, a little volunteering (and by a 'little' I mean only several hours one day), member of three clubs.</p>

<p>Rec's: Even though I got a 2 on the Physics exam, my Physics teacher is writing my rec. Although I obviously cannot know for sure, I think he will say only positive things and even spin the fact that my 2 on the exam was his fault --- it hardly was. So, point being, my rec should be strong.</p>

<p>Essay: Assume it is at least averagely good, and likely very good, relative to the applicant pools of both schools.</p>

<p>I think you have a really great shot at Lafayette ED. I know someone with a 1700 something SAT who was deferred from Lafayette ED. Given you have a much higher SAT score, I think you have a good shot. I'm not sure about Lehigh ED and what % they accept.</p>

<p>Well, Lafayette accepts 35% overall and 68% early decision. Lehigh accepts 32% overall and 58% early decision.</p>

<p>But many factors play into those numbers, of course. </p>

<p>A potentially interesting point to be made is that Lehigh supposedly only 'considers' GPA, while test scores, EC's, and essays are 'important'. Does this mean I have a might actually have a better chance at Lehigh than I do at Lafayette (Lafayette claims GPA is the most important thing to them)?</p>
