Your test scores are pretty good, but your GPA may hinder you a bit. You look committed and focused when it comes to your EC's, so the only advice I'd give you is to continue putting your all into academics, and to work industriously on your application this summer, especially on the essays - write and revise as many times as possible, and get other people to read them as well. I'd also recommend that you do some research on all of these reaches so that you have a better feel for them - maybe even visit them, if you have a chance. Also consider ED to one of these schools, if it is at all an option.

Amherst: Moderate/Difficult Reach
Brandeis: Difficult Match/Lesser Reach
Columbia: Difficult Reach
Emory: Moderate/Difficult Match
Northwestern: Lesser/Moderate Reach
Swarthmore: Moderate/Difficult Reach
Haverford: Moderate Reach
Cornell: Moderate/Difficult Reach
Tufts: Moderate/Difficult Reach

Have you considered Williams, UPenn, Brown (come to think of it, any Ivies other than Columbia)?

Cornell is an ivy bud

I agree with Topper's reach assessment.

TTG

anyobdy else? maybe some suggestions of small schools i could look into

ur in at least 2 of those bleve me....

whoops, I totally overlooked Cornell, you're right! But if you're thinking small, I wouldn't look at Columbia OR Cornell...

I'm just going down the list of LAC's in that area(ish):

Amherst
Barnard
Bates
Bowdoin (fun name)
Colby
Colgate
Hamilton
Middlebury
Trinity
Vassar
Weslyan
Williams

esp. look Middlebury, Weslyan and Williams. Good luck!

ehem, im a male...

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't 740R + 700M + 660W = 2100 not 2080??

yup, sry, i got a 640 in writing =(

wesleyan is a prestigious college up at connecticut

bump...any other opinions?

Swarthmore, Amherst and Columbia are out of your reach. If you're not stuck on New England, you might look at Rice. Still a reach, but doable.
