I have two recommendations from both of my art teachers since I am applying to the art department and another recommendation from my guidance counselor.

I would say my college essay is pretty solid. I talked about my failures at sports and then finding a passion in art.

I am an out-of-stater... I'm from NH.
UDEL: I heard it is harder to get in if you are from out-of-state. Is that true?
The College of New Jersey: I heard it is easier to get in as an out-of-stater. Is that true as well?

What do you think my chances of getting into the University of Delaware and the College of New Jersey is? Be completely honest. I think they are both a reach for me and I most likely won't get in, but I wanted to get other people's opinion on this. These are my top two schools.

Okay, so I really know nothing about the College of New Jersey, however I can chance for U of Delaware. I’m not sure where you’d be weighted, but I know you need a 3.8 WEIGHTED GPA, but since you’re majoring in the arts it could be less. You take solid classes, nothing TOO rigorous, but not all easy A’s. If you don’t mind, supply your SAT scores. And, is the GPA you provided weighted or unweighted?

My GPA is weighted I believe and the reason it is a 3.43 is because I struggled in my math classes throughout my four years of high school as you can see in my first quarter grades.
I am not sending in my SATs scores. I am only sending my ACT scores because I did really poorly on them. I figured just sending in my ACT scores would be the better choice for me.

That’s smart. Well anyways, since you seem very art oriented you might have a better chance. If you were applying with intent for business or engineering it would be extremely difficult, but in all honesty it seems like U of Delaware would be a low reach or a high match/target.

TCNJ- art school will depend largely on the quality of your portfolio. Grades wise and test scores wise not currently
strong enough for other majors IMO.
