My chances at Yale?

I currently have a 5.0952 weighted GPA (and I’ve never gotten below an A in any classes). I’ve been in all honors classes since freshman year (1 APs Sophomore year, 3 Junior year, and 4 Seniors year).

ACT: 34 (composite)
ACT (highest scores) Math: 34 English: 36 Science: 34 Reading: 35
SAT II Math II: 760
SAT II Literature: 750

Leadership: I’m the treasurer of the French honor society at my school, tutor for that language, and I’m captain of a contemporary dance club (that I’ve been on for 4 years).

Activities: contemporary dance club (4 years, captain 1 year), varsity dance team (3 years), French honor society (3 years), dance classes (3 years), Freshman mentor program (we help freshmen adjust to high school, 1 year), summer 2016 astrophysics class at Brown (A+), summer 2017 microeconomics college class at Northwestern (A-)

In my supplemental essay I stressed how much I would like to mix studio art and mechancial engineering. My common app essay was narrative and about my progression in dance club from freshman year to senior year. I’m also sending in a visual art portfolio that is pretty strong in illustration.

The thing I’m worried about is that my writing isn’t really quirky enough because I’ve heard that’s what Yale likes.

Gender: Female
Race/Ethnicity: Asian and White
Intended major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Illustration

Thank you!!

You are an impressive person and good enough to be accepted, but Yale admission is a low percentage chance for even the most impressive people. So, keep working on your applications to other colleges. Try to forget about it until mid December, if you can.

You are definitely more competitive than the average Yale applicant, but the school is still a reach for basically everyone
