<p>I have participated in several art-related community service programs, including volunteering at benefits and contributing my own artwork. Will have by graduation >80 NAHS service hours, a combination of community service, taking advantage of NAHS-related art programs, and specifically NAHS-related service.</p>
<p>I'm attending a one-week journalism seminar at Columbia University this summer.</p>
<p>I'm also entering a few essay contests this year, so hopefully I'll be able to say on my resume that I placed at some point. Also, I'm participating in some debate competitions this year and next year, so I'm hoping for a few victories there too.</p>
<p>I know exactly who I'm going to approach for recs, so they should be very good, and essay-writing is one of my biggest strengths, so I should be pretty good there too.</p>
