I'm considering to apply to one of these schools below for Early Action
MIT
Yale
Caltech
UChicago
Georgetown

Can you chance me? thanks

PD - Your stats are average for applicants to these schools, so you’ll need to show some things that makes you “special.”

[Note: D’s boyfriend interviewed at Yale and was asked “What makes you special?” He botched the question and was rejected.]

haha. thanks man! Anyone else?

Haha I find it funny your username is penndreamer and it’s not on your list :P

But as far as chances, I’d say your recommendations place you in the pool of the 70% of applicants who are all qualified to attend. What you need now is the angle to your application that, as newhope said, makes you “special” I see several promising things including music, sports, science, and volunteer work. Now none of those in and of themselves set you apart, but work with them. Develop an essay that shows the college(s) why they should accept you and make your case through the rest of your application.

haha. penn is still my dream school. But i’m worried about the financial aid so i can’t do ED to Penn.
I just want to apply to EA schools and see if i can get accepted to any of them.
Thanks for your opinion! I appreciate it :)

MIT and Caltech: 5 percent chance. The vast majority of students who attend these schools have 800 on AP tests for Bio, Chem, and Physics. Your Chem score is low for them and your apparently didn’t take bio and physics. That all hurts your chances. Your CR score will also hurt your chances.

Yale – 10 percent chance. Again, the CR score will hurt you. For an Asian girl, nothing else you provided will make you stick out for Yale. I wouldn’t even tell them about your 800 on the Korean AP test. I’ve heard that they don’t like to see native speakers submit such scores.

UChicago – 15 percent.

Georgetown – 20 percent

Good luck!!
