Hello I am currently a junior and johns hopkins has always been my dream but I want to know if I have a chance of realistically getting into it ED next year.
SAT I (breakdown): Currently at 2250 but that’s without any studying so I think I can get at least 2300 once I do
ACT: 33 but same as SAT i didn’t study so I feel I can do better once I do
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.9
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): not great but i go to a rly hard school
AP : took WHAP soph yr got a 5. Am currently in ap chem, physics, english and psych. I expect to get 5’s on all of them if not atleast a 4 because my school over prepares.
Senior Year Course Load: I am going to take ap biology, environmental science, stat, gov, econ, english, compsci
ECs: I do debate and I am pretty good I have won many tournaments and that’s the thing that takes most of my time, shadow docs and pharm tech internship, HOSA, GSA, Girl up, and a bunch of other random clubs which are meh
Volunteer work: Over 1000 hours at local animal shelter (i love cats), 300 ish hours as a camp counselor for kids with disabilities, 100 judging at debate tournaments, 100+ at a senior retirement home, and then about 200 of random stuff like NHS and ish
sorry if i forgot to put in something important
forgot to mention: i want to major in neuroscience/biology
Sounds like your chances are pretty high. Your scores are fine so I wouldn’t worry about getting them up unless you want to. Your ecs are good and you’re sort of a “urm” in that you’re a female looking to go into STEM. I think you have a good shot there. Good luck!
