I accidently read about Kenyon College in a "Colby College" thread and I really liked it!!!
Is there a chess club in Kenyon??

You definitely have a good shot. Your writing score is a little below average for Kenyon, so make sure you work hard on the essay. If you are not able to visit, see if an admissions director is coming to your school or if you could get an alumni interview.

Do you know what you would want to major in? Also, will you need financial aid? International applicants sometimes have a better chance if they don’t need any aid.

I am not sure if there is a chess club on campus. I definitely know there are many students who play. You could always start one if you wanted.

Thanks Rdt, Kenyon Is definitely in my RD list. Great school that I haven’t known until I read the “Colby vs Hamilton” thread.

Just a brief warning: Kenyon is a highly-focused writing school and some of the international students have problems adjusting to the high-level paper writing.

Your scores are a bit low. Make sure you have killer essays.

Kenyon is a writing school that is always exited to get kids who stand out as math/science phenoms. The level of writing really isn’t any higher at Kenyon than a comparable liberal arts college, but a lot of English majors couldn’t do simple math in their head if their mother’s life depended on it. Seriously, throw down in the classes you’re good at, and the stuff that’s a bit more of struggle will work itself out if you put in the time.

My stats are extremely similar to yours, except for your EC’s seem better and my SAT writing is a 750. For both of us, I wish us the best of luck :)
