My chances? SDSU

So I’ve been looking over the SDSU chance threads and read that admission is based off of eligibility index scores.

So here are my stats:

SAT out of 1600 - 1140 (pre 2016) which is the same as 1210 (New SAT)
CSU GPA(10-12th) - 3.71
EI score - 4108
I will choose to major in either Construction Engineering or Accounting
I’m a California resident

I still have some concerns. EI of 4108 seemed competitive to me at first. However, I am always reminded that SDSU is very selective. So I have couple of questions.

-Do hooks (first gen college student, etc.) have any impact at all for admission chances? Or is it strictly based on the eligibility index calculation?

-If it’s possible, may I see a list of the minimum eligibility index scores required to be admitted for every sdsu major? And/or the individual major acceptance rates?

Thank you for reading.

You meet the 4100 threshold so you stand a good chance at an acceptance. There is no published EI thresholds by major for SDSU, just some collected data from the last few years. EI thresholds fluctuate year to year based on the stats for each years in-coming Freshman class and the # of applicants so there are no guarantees.

On the common dataset, SDSU considers HS course rigor, GPA and test scores most important. Important are geographic location and state of residency. First generation or other so called hooks are not considered.

For acceptance rates by major, see link: https://asir.sdsu.edu/index.php/applications-by-major/

Thank you!!!
