Hey, I'm a high school sophomore and I would be really excited to go to Columbia University. Here is my resume:

9th grade (Pre-IB is considered honors):
Pre-IB English: B
Hon French 4: A
Hon US History: B
Hon Geometry: A
Pre-IB Biology: B
Foundations of Technology: B
Baseball: A

I took the AP US History test and got a 3- I'm curious whether this will look bad, because it is only a 3, or whether they will see it as good, since I didn't take the AP class?

10th grade (just first semester so far):
Pre-IB English: B
Hon Chemistry: A
Pre-IB Modern World History: A
IB French 5: A
Photography: A
AP Government: A
Hon Algebra 2: A

PSAT results: 73 Critical Reading, 66 Math, 71 Writing. This translates to a 2100 on the sat. When I looked online, though, nearly all of my mistakes were careless mistakes, like reading the question wrong. I think I can do much better, and maybe even get a perfect score.

Next year, I'll be taking all IB classes, and going for the IB Diploma. I'm hoping that my improvement in grades from Freshman year will look good. I'm sure I can pull off straight As from now on, as the Bs almost always resulted from not doing some work, which I have completely stopped now. As for extra-curriculars, I'll have done the Swim and Dive, Cross Country, and Track and Field teams all four years. I have been on my summer swim team for 10 years now. I'm in the French Honor Society, and thinking about creating a go club. I'm also going to join the Each One Teach One club, where you can help other students with subjects they're struggling with. I think my biggest weakness is community service- I'm going to start doing more of this now.

I'm sure that my resume here is below average for Columbia, but my question is, if I continue showing improvement, could I have a chance? What should I do to increase my prospects?
