My Chances?

Hi,

I'm new here... I will be a senior this year. I have already taken SAT once and will take it again in Oct 2007. I live in NJ and on my 1st SAT I got a 1800.
My accumulated GPA so far is around 3.5. I know I have another chance to improve my SAT score, but do you think I can get into Rutgers with an 1800 and 3.5 GPA?

One more thing - my school has sent me a transcript at the end of this school year (2006-2007). It has weighted and unweighted GPA. But the unweighted is what counts right? colleges look at the unweighted GPA right?

Critical reading+ Math score - 1180
Critical reading+Math+Writing - 1800
Unweighted GPA - 3.542
Weighted GPA - 3.979

SAT II Bio - 670

Is one subject test enough for admission?

Is ACT compulsory to take because I haven't. I will be retaking the SATs in Oct, but want to know if I'm can make it with the scores I currently have, worst comes to worst.

AP Scores

AP Euro - 5
AP Lang - 3
AP Bio - 4

Currently taking AP Stats.

I'm going to try for either Pre-Med or Biotechnology or some biological science subject.

So you'll I can make it for any of the above?

I mean to ask does one need a particular SAT score to qualify for admission in the majors stated above?

I'm asking this because I'm not aware of how they evaluate an application.

Lastly I live in NJ.

Thanks in advance!

If you have questions about Rutgers then you should post in their forum, not the UD one :)

I'm really sorry. Actually I had the same question for 4-5 colleges. So I just copy/pasted. I should have checked it. Sorry again. But I meant DU.

uh oh DU means University of Denver, UD means University of Delaware. I'm guessing we're not your first choice...

I meant University of Delaware

Exotica - I'd say you're safely in, though why a student would be interested in both UD and RU escapes me entirely. Retaking the SAT is a good idea, but do consider taking the ACT also. You don't have to report the score unless you do well, and you'll probably do very well.

Thanks for the reply. I will consider the ACT but I don't think I have enough time. Without a bias which one is better RU or UD? UD was my second choice after RU.
