Strong in languages but rather weak in math & sciences
tend to take business or foreign languages in college

does UCSC provide good programs on these two?

Definately in.

Your UC GPA is 3.72, above UCSC's average of 3.56.
Your SAT of 1510 is below UCSC's average (middle 50% is between 1530 and 1890)--average is probably around 1680.
Your two SATs IIs are above average (1500 out of 1600 possible).

ECs are about average for UC Santa Cruz for an in-state student.

This means you should be a match for the school.

As far as the best programs at UC Santa Cruz, the four best are:
Marine Sciences
Biology
Psychology, and
Linguistics

The only strong business program at UC Santa Cruz is their information technology program at the moment. They also have a Business Economics major that allows one to prepare for an accounting career.

Obviously, a linguistics major would probably work well for you--but I suggest you go to the school and decide what works best once you've taken a few classes.

Good luck.

Calcruzer

thanks so much for the info, i think it really helps
