My Chances?

I'm applying as a Fall 2009 Transfer. I've completed 2 years of college but I will still be considered a Junior in the fall because my second year of classes were all online and Wellesley won't accept those.

Critical Reading: 580
Writing: 580
Math: 510

Your chances are difficult to predict. Your h.s. gpa is good and your extra currics
show consistency and commitment, for example, concert band (4 yrs) and Jazz saxophone (6 years), on top of volunteering and distinguishing yourself with academic awards. However, your SAT scores and college gpa could be much stronger. Can you retake the SAT even if you are in college?

You mentioned you took classes on-line. Perhaps you had to stay home to take care of a sick parent, for example, and had to take classes on-line instead of attending college classes. Let the adcom know if there is any additional information they should take into consideration when reading your application. All in all, I wish I could give you a direct answer about your chances, but I do not know all the facts here. If you really want to go to Wellesley, take time to write a compelling application. I would not necessarily bet any chances on you getting in, but the adcom looks at the whole picture and this is worth keeping in mind. You will never know, unless you apply. Good luck!
