I feel like I am being a little harsh, but your UW GPA is what really influenced me. I think you have a shot at all of these schools because it's still early in the game, but I would look at schools like William and Mary and such... but once again, come back after you have taken the SAT I, and that could really make the difference.

You may not want to pin your hopes on the above opinion. Nothing in what you've given us here makes Chicago a good shot. I'd say aim for a 2200 and up the GPA for any shot at all at Chicago, Penn and Duke.

I'd have to disagree with suze about Chicago. Chicago is so much about the essays and interview and recs that we don't really know if you can get in. The UW gpa is pretty low, but if you get 4.0 this year, and a solid SAT score, I think you can get into Chicago with good essays

Never heard of the first and last, but cornell you will definetly get rejected. Your stats are pretty good though, consider applying to Michigan.

Just wondering, how did you get a 1.0 GPA increase with weighted grades in your sophomore year? Your school offers all honor classes during 10th grade?
