Your opinions? Please be brutally honest. I honestly don't see how I would get in.

I can't see how you can bypass those scores

pattcake999, I would recommend that you PM Northstarmom. She is an alum interviewer for Harvard who is, herself, AA, and knows a great deal about admissions to Ivy League schools for URMs. Get her opinion. Your scores are, indeed, quite low even for an AA. But URMs with scores like these have been accepted if they have the "something extra" that these schools desire.

I hope that in at least one of your essay you will comment on how your hearing problems have played a role in your life. It may make a big difference in how your test scores are interpreted.

I also hope you contacted the college board regarding your disability since they may offer useful advice to you.

You appear to be a strong candidate in terms of your accomplishments; and that's without even considering the factors you have dealt with in your life. I would expect the admission committee will give less weight to your test scores (which are actually quite good) than previous posters are suggesting.

You father is probably right.

I expect you are applying to other prestigious colleges besides Yale (Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, etc ). I hope you are considering what colleges you will like most (not just which ones are most prestigious).
