And Then There Were None

Wuthering Heights

or

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

harry potter is popular isn’t it

I had to read the Book Thief in class, needless to say, it was SO much better than I expected.

the great gatsby-probably my favorite in terms of writing, good story

crime and punishment-incredible, it was a translation so the writing wasnt incredible, but the story and themes make up for it

brave new world-interesting concept, and i couldnt put it down towards the end

and my favorite, the catcher in the rye
i feel kinda stupid and stereotypical when i say the catcher in the rye is my favorite, but i love it

Harry Potter series, far and away. And no, I so cannot choose between the 7!

Yeah, you just have to read it in one read :)

I’m just agreeing with the people who list the books I like, because I like too many books.

I loved The Book Thief.

A Tale of Two Cities

Charles Dickens FTW!

Seems like so many people loved Brave New World! I was contemplating reading it…definitely will now!

To those who liked Book Thief…you may also want to read Slaughterhouse-Five. Honestly, I can’t guarantee that there are as many similarities as I remember…I read them in quick succession one summer. But I liked both so that’s something at least! Slaughterhouse-Five is a really amazing book if you stop to think what it all truly means

I read BNW freshman year for English. It rose the bar so high I’ve been disappointed by almost every reading since.

I haven’t checked out the entire thread, but has anyone mentioned the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paoloni? Eragon was a good book and I’m impressed that a contemporary a few years older than I wrote and published it.

Yes…he is almost done with it, as he has been for two years. But he recently said that he actually is done writing most of the POVs…so excited; Daenerys is the shiz.

Yes, I read Eragon and Eldest. I found the plot to be eerily (read: exactly) like that of Star Wars for the most part, and the writing style to be borderline awful. I remember something in the beginning of the second relating to Sapphira (the DRAGON, for those who don’t know) glowing “like a disco ball” or whatever. That was kind of the last straw. They weren’t truly horrendous, but they were closer than most other books I read.

i liked it when i was young, but after i started reading some classics i didnt like them to much. it has been criticized for being to close to lotr and star wars, and i would say it def is. also the quality of the writing is not very good. the story is fairly engaging, but none of the characters are that great. decent story, but thats about it.

no doubt about that hanana

Atlas Shrugged is amazing

The Tale of the Gutsy NinJa

Slaughterhouse Five, The Ruins, Catch-22, The Catcher in the Rye, Night

This Side of Paradise
-F. Scott Fitzgerald

Err, atlas shrugged is ok, but i still cannot get through the chapter, “this is john galt speaking”. Every time i try to read that particular chapter, i end up wanting to stab my eyes out XD

The Catcher in the Rye or Franny and Zooey

The Velveteen Rabbit.

Also, Harry Potter. All of them.
