My friend who lives in Denver got a full ride to Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science but also got into Harvard. HE can't decide between studying at Carnegie Mellon or at harvard. Obviously, Harvard's comp sci department pales in comparison to CMU's. I guess all Harvard has is its name when it comes to Comp Sci.

If he is serious about comp sci, I would definitely recommend CMU: not only does it have the "name" in those knowledgable in CS, but the free ride is tough to turn down. He may want to choose Harvard if he isn't positive that he wants to do CS (its other programs are most likely stronger than CMU's) or if he does want the experience of going to Harvard. That is one tough decision!

I'd DEFINITELY pick Carnegie Mellon! It's a great school, definitely tops for engineering and WOW FREE RIDE :O

Harvard's Harvard but honestly the education matters more. your friend's crazy :P

thanks guys
