<p>Perhaps he got in because it was Standford and not Stanford. :D</p>
<p>21.4% of Stanford students scored between 24 and 29 on the ACT. He’s not that out of the ordinary.</p>
<p>I also know somone who got denied with a 33 ACT</p>
<p>Stanford has a whole person evaluation methodology. Essentially, everything from grades to scores to ECs to the essay are very important. Obviously the friend with the 27 did better in other areas than the one who was denied. Scores are only one part of the total.</p>
<p>Is the person an athlete?</p>
<p>Is he majoring in a unique subject?</p>
<p>Is he a URM?</p>
<p>Does he play a unique instrument?</p>
<p>BTW…how does he already know that he was accepted? Has Stanford sent out acceptances already?</p>
