My goal is to get into UCLA. What are you opinions on my chances of getting accepted?

So I'm a junior in high school. I live in Los Angeles, I'm Persian, and I came to the United States back in 2005.
My weighted GPA currently is 3.8

Grades:

Freshman Year - All As, except for one B in algebra 2 in each semester, honors classes
Sophomore Year - All As, except for one B in trigonometry and one B in math analysis, honors classes
Junior Year - AP English Composition: B in first semester, A in second semester
AP Calculus AB: C in both semesters
Chemistry: A in first semester, probably a B in the second semester (grades aren't out yet)
US History: A in both semesters, highest percentage in both semesters (100+%)
Med-Lab (Cedars-Sinai internship, it counts as a class as well): A in both semesters
Next year I plan on taking AP Calculus BC, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Physics

Extra Curricular activities:
- Volunteered at library for a couple weekends (not much, I know)
- Paid internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from beginning of junior year until the end of senior year
- California HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Cedars-Sinai Chapter, position: Treasurer (Junior year, next year I will be applying for another position) we do volunteer work and learn about various health careers
- 2014 HOSA State Leadership Conference Finalist, its a competition with over 2000 people each year, competing in various medical related events. I won state finalist for a PSA about child hunger in America. We went all the way to Anaheim, and stayed there for about 4 days.
- Debate Club, position: secretary (junior year), president (senior year)
- Cedars-Sinai Teen Volunteer (aside from the internship, which was mainly clerical duties. I joined volunteer services to experience more clinical tasks and patient contact)
- Wilshire Music Academy, I performed in front of a small crowd on guitar, played Every Breath You Take by The Police
- I take care of my younger brother (The UCLA Admissions person who came to school said I could list that one, lol)
- Regenerative Medicine Institute (stem cell research lab program at Cedars-Sinai, its a week-long course in the summer)
- Korean Youth Community Center volunteer, I do mentoring and help with the middle school summer program

What chance do I have at getting accepted?

Probably a low reach because of those low math grades. Don’t take AP Calc BC if you barely passed calc.

I think my extra curriculars make up for it, no? and I’m taking it, the teacher next year is really lenient about seniors getting good grades.

anyone else please?

UCLA is a low reach since you GPA is below their average of a 4.3. UC’s weigh GPA more heavily than test scores, although UCB and UCSB are known to be more holistic in their admissions.
You need to calculate your CSU/UC GPA to give yourself a better idea of your chances. See link <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
Also for Class of 2014, around 50% had GPA’s at 4.0 or greater.

my UC GPA is 3.8 according to my counselor. and I know that its under the average, but I’m aiming to major in medicine and healthcare so I thought that my hospital oriented extra curriculars would help me out. am I wrong? how do grades stack up against extra curriculars in the UC system? thank you for replying

They prioritize grades over extra curriculars.

say that I get a 1900-2000+ on the SAT, which I’ll be studying for this entire summer, taking into consideration the high SAT score, 3.8 GPA (could go higher based on AP scores, and next year’s classes), as well as the listed extra curricular activities, what would be my chances then? I’ve been told from various sources that lots of extra curricular activities, as well as positions in those activities such as president, secretary, etc, really boost my chances.
My counselor told me about a former student who had a 4.0+ GPA but zero extra extra curriculars and got rejected from every UC school.
