I’m not really an academic person and have a really average grades I’d rather say. My GPA weighted is 3.61 and academic GPA is 3.59. My highest SAT is 1160 and ACT is 22.
I’ve tried my very best to complete my responsibilities as a high school student and study really hardfor every tests and exams, including SATs and ACTs, I challenge myself to take AP and Honors classes, yet I still get only Bs and As in my classes and my SAT keeps getting stuck at 1100 range.
I know for sure my extra curriculum activities are really vibrant, I’m an artist and photographer and enter exhibitions and magazine features, I compete in piano competitions and have won medals and trophies, I’m a cellist at South Coast youth Symphony Orchestra and performed at Segrestrom and Austria. And I also figure skate in competitions, shows, and tests. And as you can see, being able to mange all these activities during school week and still maintain a average grades is really hard.
The schools I want to go to demand for really high grades and test scores, like USC, UCLA, UCI, Chapman… etc. I’m mostly aiming for Schools that can support my art major and music ed minor. But I clearly know my test scores are really low and so is my GPA.
Will schools still be interested in me? Are they still going to look at my portfolio after seeing my scores and grades? Am I hopeless? Or am I just aiming too high and should apply for Cal States and Community Colleges?
