Okay so I’m a upcoming senior. I’m fairly good at school and I’m interested going into NYU. My GPA since freshmen year was a 96%. Recently got my report card back and it’s now a 95.8 ! I went down .2 points. Will I have a chance to bring it back senior year ? Idk what my GPA is on a 4.0 scale but is my GPA bad ? My anxiety is talking here lmao but opinions are welcome
*i mean scale
0.2 points compared to 100.0 points… It’s marginal. I don’t think should be worried, 95.8 is barley different from 96.0. You shouldn’t be worried about raising your GPA 0.2 points in senior year - focus on your apps and essays. To convert to a 4.0 scale just divide by 25.
@pinklinks That isnt really accurate for a 4.0 scale. It may be when you go below an A but OP is far above that.
@Imprettyshutup Your GPA on a 4.0 scale is a 4.0. unweighted. This is the highest you can get as an unweighted GPA so that is really good. Trust me when I say that your GPA going down .2 points means nothing. It is like going from ending a class with a 99.5 vs a 100. Colleges will not even look at the difference and if it has ANY impact on your application process I would be amazed. But hey, congratulations on maintaining such a good GPA! Unless your high school has grade inflation, which it probably doesn’t, that is really good and you can get into many good schools!
@PetEngineer We do not have enough information to conclude that OP has a perfect 4.0 unweighted. The 95.8 GPA that OP has right now could be weighted, meaning that their unweighted could be much less. Some people have 4.5 weighted, but 3.9 unweighted GPAs.
@Imprettyshutup We need to know your final grade in each class that you have taken to accurately give you a GPA on the 4.0 scale.
@IrrationalPepsi Ah, that is true. I did assume that it was UW but that is a very good point. My post only stands if it is UW GPA. If it is weighted GPA then it is different.
no its UNWEIGHTED
@IrrationalPepsi its unweighted ATM and im waiting for my SATS scores that come out the 21st! thanks for the help tho, i appreciate it
@IrrationalPepsi btw i think its unweighted? it doesnt say on my report card… they just sum up all my classes and divide by how many classes i took. they dont add any extra points or anything to my GPA . so is that weighted or unweighted
