My GPA trend how will it affect me???

OK I just got my final junior year report card and it's slightly better than I was expecting, I am very pleased with it. Here's my scenario so far:

Freshman Year

English Honors - A
History Honors - A
Geometry - B+
Biology - A
Latin I - A
Gym - A
Band - A

Total weighted GPA: 4.07

Sophomore Year (this is what worries me)

English Honors - B+
History Honors - A
Algebra 2 - B
Earth Science - A
Latin II - B
Gym - A
Graphics Img. 1 - A

Total weighted GPA: 3.79

Junior Year (just finished)

English Honors - A
AP US History - A
Trig (sem. course) - B
Pre cal (sem. co.) - A
Chemistry - A
Latin III - B+
Grafx Img. 2 (2 creds.) - A

Total weighted GPA - 4.00

As you can see my sophomore year was really bad I took easy classes like Algebra 2 (without trig) and Earth Science. I didn't even try sophomore year because I realized how dumb school was but then junior year I realized that school was dumb but I had to do well to get into a good college and then hopefully get a good job. (very convoluted thinking here, but work with me)

anyways how will my GPA trend of 4.07 to 3.79 to 4.00 affect me? i mean that sophomore year sticks out like a sore thumb to me I wish i had tried that year...

depends where you're applying to.

if that school doesn't factor in freshman year grades, then they will focus only on soph/junior year scores and see a more favorable trend.

so the fact that i was high, then went down, and then went high again is viewed as a bad thing by colleges that factor in all 4 years?

Below the top 25 or so colleges your grades are fine.

if a school is factoring all 4 years, it doens't really mean they think its "bad".

i think they'll see the later upward trend as a good sign.

i don't think you have to worry too much about it.
