Half way through the year I want to comment on Berkshire school (again). I have found the administration and faculty to be the most caring, professional group of educators I have ever encountered. My son has established a routine, he is challenged at the right level in his classes but also has a life appropriate for a 14 year-old boys. Afternoons are filled for him with enjoyment of the great outdoors (he is on the Varsity Nordic Ski Team) a bit of down time, dinner with friends and study hall. While this schedule is similar to other boarding schools, I want to highlight that the students appear organized, focused but not stressed. There is always a hello and eye-contact. As we visit in general on Saturday nights to take him for a quick dinner off campus, I have seen students in action and am proud that he is a part of this community.
So glad y’all found such a great fit, @sadieshadow !! That’s how I feel about St Marks, although we haven’t been able to pop onto campus as you have. Isn’t it great to have such a great feeling about the school, though? For us, it reinforces that we made the right choice and the sacrifice is worth it! Cheers to you!
