So, basically I am the valedictorian of my school and had very good act and sat scores.
I did a lot of outside things and I got rejected by Harvard, Yale, Princeton,
waitlisted at Dartmouth, williams and amherst.
Today I saw my transcript and a set really bad SAT scores that I had never taken are on my transcripts!!!
I don't know what to do!!
The colleges must have seen those scores and it probably played a role in rejecting me!! I am really frustrated.
Please help me.

Contact the admission officers at these schools right away and inform them of this error. But you should talk with your school counselor about what to do first.

That’s really terrible. I’m so sorry!

But wouldn’t you have sent in the official score report from College Board? That would have clarified any errors.

Either way, contact the Guidance Department and have them send corrections to each of the schools you applied to, with your school’s letterhead and your Counselor’s signature. To be honest, I don’t think it will do much this late in the game, unless you were waitlisted anywhere. I had a friend who got rejected from Cornell because of an error like yours’ (except it was Cornell’s fault) and, when she told them about it, they issued an apology and said that it would have considerably increased her chances but that there was nothing they could do now.

If I were you, I would take a year off and join Cross Cultural Solutions or Habitat for Humanity and then re-apply. Your fair chance was honestly taken away from you. Best of luck and keep us updated!

Sorry to hear that St.M!

Note to other applicants: Always order an extra copy of your transcript for yourself. Open it and check the numbers carefully for errors or missing test scores. Registrars can make errors, especially now with online printable data, rather than the old fashioned hard copies.

This is just one of many reasons why schools should NOT be listing test scores on the transcripts.

I thought unviersities only count on official report not school transcript about SAT scores.
Are you sure it’s because this mistake that got you into this situation?
