EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!! oh no!

A few weeks ago my transcripts were sent to all of my schools. For some reason my SAT score was reported on my transcript. I did horrible on the SAT (1040)......but my ACT score of 28 is on there. This is sooo bad!!!!! I know that colleges are supposed to only take the highest score, but that SAT is ghastly! Should I tell my counselors to take that SAT score off and resend my transcripts!!??? HELP!!!!!!! I"m freaking out!!!!!!!!!

I'm impressed you could type that message with a 1040 ;)

I kid, I kid. I think it's probably too late now, but ask your counselor about it.

I have faith that they really, truly will only consider your higher score (the 28). It can't hurt to have the 1040 taken off, though, if you can.

Is that a 1040/1600 or 1040/2400?...

2400.......

I'm so mad!

I heard the reason they consider the better score is that it makes the statistics of the kids who apply, the kids who get in, and the kids who go to School X look a lot better.

I wouldn't sweat soooo much... your ACT is fine for many schools.

not to be mean or anything but you should have taken care of all the details before hand and not come flaming on the forums.......if that SAT is out of 2400 like you say...it will put a HUGE dent in your transcript.........good luck

but I only want them to consider the ACT score....will it really be a huge dent?!!!

would it help any at all if my counselor sent another transcript w/o the sat score and a letter saying that the score was not supposed to be reported on the transcript.

or should I send a letter saying it was a I was testing in the middle of a family emergency (actually true)?

Search this forum. There was a thread sometime during the past couple of weeks about a published article that suggested students have privacy rights and their scores should not be on their transcripts without their approval.

Your high school should not put your test scores on your transcripts at all. College Board has specifically told schools this, and I'm pretty sure ACT has too.

On the other hand, colleges should be believed when they say (as they all generally do) that they consider your highest scores. They don't care that you learned before you got your best score--everyone does, and that is what high school is for.

If my counselor does resend my transcripts.....will colleges look at the new transcripts or both?

Nobody here can tell you what the folks in the admissions office of the school to which you're applying will do if/when they received a corrected transcript. What your school did was wrong but it has been done, so send along a corrected transcript if you want and forget about it. If you absolutely can't forget about it, call the admissions office of the school you hope to attend, explain the problem, and ask them what, if anything, you should do. They'll probably tell you they'll only consider your highest score and you'll have to trust them.

Dude were you asleep during the test?? No offense but that score is abhorridly low.

If 1040/2400 is your real score (not typo on transcript), sending a new transcript without SAT probably won't do much, unless it is not your correct score and there is a note form counselor stating that is not your correct score.
1040 is insanely low; it will not impress. Lets just pray that colleges take your highest score without even flinching about an absurdly low score. (its like 14 ACT)

Lets be honest; were you sick that day? Sleeping? Got lucky on ACT? (Cheating?)

Transcript has been sent; hope for the best, nothing much you can do.

I couldn't focus because my grandmother was in the hospital (she was really sick and died) I had to leave the test center in the middle of the test

TELL YOUR COUNSELER TO SEND A NOTE ABOUT THE FAMILY EMERGENCY!!!!!!!

The 1030 will auto-reject you at most colleges in the country if they don't know why you got that score. You should def. send a note any possible way you can - annoying the admission officers is meaningless compared to what the 1030/2400 could do...thats like <350 on each section.

Yes I agree. Definitely have a note sent explaining the score.
