My highschool..

For the first time, harvard is coming to my highschool and going to have a meeting with students.. hmm, they had never come to my school since the school was built... (since 1977) lol

I don't know why they are coming to school suddenly; There must be one who got into harvard from my highschool right?

Don’t see why…

You’re saying they’re meeting with students because someone who applied this year got in? That wouldn’t make sense; why would they meet with students if everyone already sent in their apps?

They’re meeting at your school because they want more people to apply in future years, that’s all. It’s the equivalent of receiving letters in the mail after you take your PSATs.

Marketing purposes. Why *shouldn’t *they visit? It gives them an opportunity to get their name out there to students who perhaps would never even consider applying.

This might be UMRP related. A couple of my minority friends are participating in this really cool program – you get your flight home for spring break paid for – and they get a list of schools with numbers of students who have been targeted as potential future admits. Very cool stuff.

So, yeah, marketing purposes. Just really, really aggressive and carefully-planned ones.
