My HS offers basically no Honors.. help

Hey guys, I'm in the class of '14 and my school is by far the best and most academically challenging in the county. But sadly, they just do not offer a lot of Honors/AP classes. This year (sophomore) I will be in Honors English which sets me up for AP English next year. But, the only other Honors class this year is math and I am just AWFUL at math, so that's out of the question.

So what I'm wondering is if colleges would really, "look down on me," as a potential student because I'm not in a lot of AP classes.

Thanks a lot.

Absolutely not. Colleges will evaluate you only in the context of the courses that are offered to you. Just take advantage of the opportunities offered to you and you will be fine. Good luck.
What Dantheman said. On my school’s transcript, it lists the AP courses available. Colleges won’t hold it against you if your school doesn’t offer the class.

Alright thanks guys, I was really kinda freaking out!

I had the same issue with my high school. Hopefully we aren’t penalized but I don’t think we will be.

Don’t worry! When colleges look at the rigor of your courseload, they compare the classes you are taking to the classes available to you. Since you seen to be taking the most rigorous courseload, that gives you an advantage to a certain extent.

Colleges look at your transcript compared to what was available. At this point you will have 1/2 honors classes available. That’s not bad.
