My idea (Is it okay, good even)

I really had no idea what I wanted to write my essay on, or the one I plan on using for the Common App. However, I spent some time talking to my english teacher from last year, and she gave me an idea. I wanted my essay to be a bit unique, to stand out a bit from all the people who write about someone important to them and such.

So, she told me I should write in on the TV show which we both watched and discussed the next day, Jeopardy. I can talk about how this shows my passion for learning, and how I'm enthusiastic about the college experience to learn more. I always want to know more, and how I will use college to do this. She also told me I should play on the word "jeopardy", as in the troubles and jeopardies that college could bring me.

So, do you think this is a good idea? Or is it a little bit too...blah?

bump please

Still, no answers?

It sounds good, but it all depends on how you write it. It can either be an amazing essay or a really boring one.

I think it all depends on how you play with words-as your teacher said
I have seen several people with similar topics.
Boring or stunning is up to you!

The best topic for you is the one that allows you to write the most personal, detailed, honest and revealing essay.

Only you can decide if this topic will allow you to do that. I'm wondering, though, if there is something you can write about that you actually do, not just watch.

I'm quite skeptical about the idea of playing on the word jeopardy. It sounds forced to my ear. How does that word play reveal anything significant about you? How can that word play bear a second reading?
