My last chance thread if i get enough people

Oh and apps aren’t due till the end of November…not the end of oct…oct scores come in before app is due

Stopaz: I know all that I have 3 more chances to take ACT: Sept., Oct., and Dec.
and that I have 3 more chances to take SAT Subject Test: Oct., Nov., Dec.

did you have a 3.4 on the UC GPA or unweighted? but yeah a 2090 SAT would be equal to about a 31 on the ACT so that is what im going to shoot for.

thanks for all the comments so far they are very helpful :)

bump 10 char?

bump 10 char x2?

my goodness so many chance threads and its not even application time yet so chill :). Honestly all 3 of ur essay topics sound like pity-party >.< which is like a red flag on the essay :/

btw ur act guide says u got a 33 on the ACT yet on here u put down 28 o.o?

Ive explained this like 20 times for people that have emailed me:

This account is shared by 3 brothers cause we found it a waste to create more than one account:
i have older twin brothers that are at UC Berkeley and USC…then there is me a senior in high school. I got a 28. My bro going to UC Berkeley got a 33 and the other bro going to USC got a 32. my bro going to Berkeley is the one who comments on his guide.

ok  just pointing that out I didnt know :/.

shibykin: its all cool its just you were the first person to ask this question on a thread most people just message.

lol better to get it out there :), cause we all know about that one ■■■■■ who had very questionable posts on the UC threads >.<

Who? i dont know about this…

mentirosa lol. :D

my 3.4 was uc weighted. unweighted it was a 3.2 i think. oh and i raised my sat score by 400 points by getting the practice test book from college board and taking all of the practice tests. it really really helped!

ok thats nice i have a little better GPA and about the same test scores and in addition to that UCSB will probably have a higher acceptance rate next year because this year it was extremely low.

Im trying to improve 3 points on ACT in 6 weeks

Don’t say you have been blessed or given anything in your essay. They want to hear that you have worked hard and earned that intelligence/empathy. A big problem is that a people are accepted that were naturally talented and cruised through high school, but then couldn’t put out the effort in college to make the grades. This is VERY common. You need to put in a lot of time and effort whether you are extremely intelligent or not. They want to know that you can.

In your essay, I would draw in your sports/E.C. activities, maybe saying something to the effect that you didn’t have much time because of the accident, but you participated in these anyways and learned good time management from that.

As far as the major thing goes, they are weighted equally except for engineering, College of Creative Studies, and some art or music majors. So pick the major you want. And, the reviewers actually do pay attention in a certain way. If all your essays and classload pointed to biology, and you picked something unrelated, they are going to be confused and that could weigh into the decision.

I know someone who participated in application reviewing, so this is all pretty much straight from what I was told.

As far as your chances, I’d say you probably will get it. However, keep in mind that people make it in that don’t deserve it and people that deserve it get rejected. It’s all part of the process.

bump 10 char?
