<p>I have 3 teachers that have submitted their letters of recommendation about me. They all submitted few days ago. On common app, under teacher, only it only shows 1 teacher has submitted it. What happened to the letters? Is common app just having a problem right now or what is wrong? What should I do now?</p>
<p>Check with your teachers to make sure they have indeed submitted their letters. If they haven’t, they should submit through the Common App and Harvard will download them.</p>
<p>If your teachers have submitted the letters, it’s probably some issue with the Common App and in all likelihood, Harvard has received the letters, but has not entered them as received on the portal. All of that is done manually and Admissions is overwhelmed at this time of year with the sheer volume of application materials pouring in. If, for whatever reason, your 2nd teacher letter hasn’t been recorded as received in a week, call the Admissions office to find out what happened. </p>
<p>FYI: Unless things have changed, your 3rd teacher recommendation letter will not appear as received because it is something extra – only the required elements of your file are tracked and recorded in the portal. You will just have to assume that letter was received.</p>
<p>I’m having an issue with letters as well (sorry to hijack the thread): The letters show up as “Downloaded” on my Common App, but on the Harvard portal they show up as “Not received.” </p>
<p>Should I call or wait a few days for them to update it?</p>
<p>^^ You should wait a week to see if the letters show up in the portal as received. FWIW: If Admissions is missing any files, you will receive an email from them in mid-November and have a week to correct the issue.</p>

<p>Harvard portal? I applied to Harvard through Common app, but I don’t have any Harvard portal. How am I going to get a Havard portal to check my application status? Another question I have is my teacher ended up mailing the letter of recommendation. How do I know when Harvard has received the letter from mail? Is it going to show up on Common app as submitted? How can I check?</p>
<p>^^ One to two weeks after you submit your application through the Common App, you will get an email from Admissions with a username, password and url to the portal to check what documents have been received.</p>
