I just recently got my hands on the barrons Cr, and writing workbook, as well as the 2400. I was wondering if they would help me improve my score drastically. right now I am roughly 1790. Cr:480, Writing:570, math:740
I am planning to study along with the blue book.

How much would rigorously studying from these books boost my score?
Thanks

studying should be able to help you quite a bit if you didn't do any prepping before your first test. looking at your scores you should pay a lot of attention to the CR strategies they list.

you should probably check Gruber out. The math section of that book is very well done and you will with no doubt raise your score significantly. I would say around 130+ points because your at 570 for math right?

Any suggestions for me to raise my writing or reading score?

Read for the CR section. That will gradually improve your speed and vocabulary. If you're short on time, just memorize vocab. Then after that... just practice. a lot. and look over your errors.

For writing, look for a pattern. They'll only ask you to identify specific types of errors and correct certain errors. Know those and you'll do great. Fill the entire 2 pages for writing the essay.

Any more math tips? Other than Gruber's, what else can be done? I need a 750+. I'm around 50 points lower than that.

Your like me on math. I average 740-800 on the practice tests. Usually that extra 50 points that does not get you into the 800 category would be because of the last problems of each section. So I suggest take all the last problems for all the pratice tests you have ever done. The hardest questions are usually like #18,#19, and #20. I suggest blue book for these because they have some really good hard questions that are on the actual SAT. Then I would practice these tough questions and really get them into my mind.

Other then that, the strats from Barron's 2400 are also pretty good. It doesn't hurt to look at them. But usually if you are above 740 for math then your fine and only need a bit of extra studying because since the math curve is horrible it only means you got 2 or 3 wrong.
