My plan for Physics B

Im gonna take physics honors next year cause our school doesnt offer an ap version. But it does offer ap physics c so this class will cover most of B. To get a head start to the year im already reading giancoli physics.

One question I have is what is the best way to study for this exam cause my course isnt completley in line with the ap guidelines? Can this also apply to the sat 2 which im gonna take?

Get a review book and cover what you don’t learn in class in that book. I used Princeton Review, and while I took an AP Physics B class, I would not have done nearly as well had I not used the Princeton Review. The SAT II is slightly different from AP Physics B, but Sparknotes has a really nice guide that you should follow. I got a 5 on the AP and 800 on the SAT II. If you have any more questions feel free to ask :D

What are the questions in the ap like. Are they fact based like or ones where you have to use your critical thinking.

And damn, your really smart. Thanks for the tips, ill get princeton review.

Haha, thanks. Most of the questions require critical thinking with some background factual knowledge. AP Physics is definitely something you need to practice and review for. For many of the problems it helps to picture what’s going on in the problem. Some people like to draw diagrams, but I’m pretty good at just visualizing. Very few questions allow you to just plug in some numbers and come up with an answer. The first time I looked a free response section for practice, I felt like giving up because it looked so scary. After practicing, memorizing the formulas, and going through the Princeton Review book, they still looked kind of scary, but I could usually manage through them with confidence. Remember that you don’t have to get everything right to get a 5 on the AP and an 800 on the SAT II, so don’t worry if you are stuck on a problem. They removed the guessing penalty for AP tests for the last AP exam so you should answer everything on the AP.
