I dont mind the dry heat, I just cant stand the opressive endless humidity which makes me sweat while standing up

NYC is like that for me in the summer

I dont mind the dry heat, I just cant stand the opressive endless humidity which makes me sweat while standing up

NYC is like that for me in the summer

as one of my friends put it, during summer in the valley

"it feels like the sun is just sitting on the valley"

hahahaha, i love that!

ha ha ha, I hate parking in the sun because then I get mild burns from the steering wheel

yah is it so not true slic? i have no idea where in LA ur from, but u know that its like 10 degrees hotter in the valley than in other parts of LA

yah i start putting my damp towels from diving practice on the seats and steering wheel to protect myself

its raining here :)

rain is ok by me as long as its that light tropical shower stuff , not the cold slushy stuff we got in ny

but, more than rain, I hate those cloudy days just waiting for the rain to come. The days when you feel there is nothing better to do but to watch tv and take a nap

i go to school in northridge, right in the HEART of the valley, so i know what you're talking about :D

we should get extra admission points for having to deal with adversities such as extreme heat and bad traffic :p

ours is heavy tropical shower stuff with thunder and lightning and strong winds- nice and dramatic even in daytime :)

And its a welcome release from the heat :)

"we should get extra admission points for having to deal with adversities such as extreme heat and bad traffic "

Yes, I agree!!!!

and i second that! ugh traffic was SO BAD on the 405 today, i thought i just might die from frustration.

i dunno how im gonna drive home tomorrow with all this anxiety....when harvard EA decisions came out, i nearly got in a car accident on the drive home....imagine tomorrow, when i find out from 10 schools!!!

just take sepulveda instead

or, better yet I just take sunset and then the 101 and then the 2, the only traffic comes from the 101, otherwise, its a perfect drive

or, you could take sepulveda and then some of the side streets off the skirball center exit

believe me I have examined all routes because I get lost frequently
one time when coming back from prom in downtown la, I accidentally drove my date and I into south central

yes, can you tell that I drove really fast trying to get out of there?

haha yah my problem is i hafta get all the way to the 10. and usually sepulveda gets pretty bad around wilshire. so even if i take sepulveda, it's almost hardly worht it.

on time i tried to shortcut off the 10 and ended up in the compton area. and it was that day like last year when they had the freak hail. and it started hailing and i was lost. it was bad to say the least.

so what's everyone's plans for checking decisions tomorrow? going from....most desirable to least? i for one want to pick up some confidence, so i'm going from least selective to most...hopefully i'll be pleasantly surprised by the time i finish checking decisions :D

I'm only gonna check UCB, Dartmouth and Cornell tomorrow

I'll wait for letters from the rest

ah yah berkeley comes out tomorrow too. get ready for a lot of disappointed friends similar to after the UCLA round

actually most of the people from my school got in, its only people with a 3.0 gpa that didnt get in

a lot of ppl who got rejected from UCLA from my school are looking forward to the berkeley decisions tomorrow, so....hope all i well tomorrow night :)

yah it was sad cause a lot of the ppl that were above average but not super and white didn't get in, while the minorities of the same caliber did. (not bashing minorities, but contrast was reallllyyyyy noticable)
