Alright so here is the problem, my school doesn’t offer AP classes. I am preparing for AP Biology from the help of books and flashcards (which are bought), and possibly a tutor. If I do well on it (as in a 4 or 5), does it look impressive on a college application, with them knowing that my school does not offer these classes?
Thank You
Also, If anyone wants to include how they prepared for an AP Exam, please share!
No. AP scores carry little to no weight in the admissions process. Colleges will expect you to maximize the opportunities within your curriculum, not expect you to seek out things that do not exist at your school.
FWIW, many high schools do not offer AP courses for a variety of reasons. These high schools span the spectrum from low-SES public schools to elite boarding schools. Each year, applicants from these schools manage to get into top colleges.
@skieurope Thank You for your comment.
Wow! I would think that it would be thought as good, because you went above and beyond the high school curriculum.
Thank you for the information!
