My school doesn't offer AP

My school doesn't offer AP. In fact, I'm one of the only students at my school that knows about AP.

The only college level courses my school offers are Dual-Credit classes, which follow the curriculum of a local state university, and upon completion, award high school credit and college credit at that specific university. However, even these DC courses are few and far between. I can only think of three, and one is rarely offered because so few students in my school are interested.

This is alarming to me. After browsing these forums, I realized how lackluster my courses will seem to the more competitive colleges. Even though I will have taken the hardest courses my school offers, I won't have the bundle of AP credits that some applicants will have, simply because there is no way for me to earn them.

So, I'm wondering how much this will matter. I have a 4.0 GPA and have taken every single honors course I can. I'm anticipating graduating valedictorian of a class of ~200. Will having ZERO APs look horrible on my college application, even considering these factors?

Please note that I'm only concerned with course load in this post, and I'm not including ECs and test scores for a reason.

No, if your school does not offer AP classes, it will not be held against you.

You’ll be judged in the context of your school. You took the most rigorous courseload your school offered so that won’t count against you. You could always selfstudy APs you like though. That could show initiative.
