My school is non-ranking. We have the top 10 percent but not top 10. However, in order to decide who is in the top 10 percent, the school does have to know who is at the top of the list of 555 students in my graduating class. Being nosey, some friends and I found out our ranks, and I am number 1. I really want to put this on college applications, but can I? My school never technically disclosed that I am the valedictorian, but is there a way for colleges to see my rank? Thanks.

You can ask your counselor to mention it, but it will mean almost nothing if only you list it on your application.

Have you checked your school profile? Many make it clear who ranks where. I would feel free to tell colleges and ask your counselor to.
