My Small list of colleges

Ithaca College(NY)- I like it alot, but I heard it has a huge gay population. I probably sound pretty mean, but I wouldn't feel comfortable. Is this true though?

Catholic University of America(DC)- I was raised a Bpatist(same thing) but I decided I don't believe in this religion. Is being religious almost a must to be part of this school? And how does this religion effect the schools community. For example are there curfues, no drinking, 'perfect'(stereotype, but you get the idea) preppy students or is it not like that even though it says Catholic in the schools name?

High Point University(NC)- I've heard bad things about the maintenance of the dorms. If anyone has information on that let me know please.

Clark University(MA)- Seems great, but also extremly small (2,000 students, 48acres)

Any ideas, opinions, or alternatives to schools like these please let me know. I've been having troubles anrrowing it down and making descisions.

I do not think Ithaca College has a huge gay population. They have a large music school and theater program...I don't think that necessarily means a huge gay population. Almost every college has some gay students. I do not think it should be a concern.

I do not know for sure, but I think Catholic U has a substantial number of non-Catholics. Every college tries to discourage drinking but drinking occurs at every college anyway. Definitely not the "perfect preppy" type. I am not sure about the curfew thing...I would be surprised if they have a curfew.

What do you want to study? Do you want a small, medium, or large student population? Or, doesn't it matter? Do you like cities or not? Public or private...does it matter? Which state do you live in?

Well i live in a small town(popoulation 25thousand), and go to a rundown public school. I come from a well off family so I have the opprotunity to study wherever I can get into. I would like to change my life for 4 years to experience more. I would like to go to a medium sized school(around 3,000-10,000 student sounds great). I would like a private school, but some nicer public schools could be just as nice. I want to go to an Urban location, a nice Urban location, which is why i picked Catholic U. I live in Massachusetts, 30miles south or Boston.

As for what I want to study, I'm not sure. Possibly Excercise sceicne as a minor since i like to live a healthly life style, and I find it interesting. I might end up goin into bussiness management because I would like to be self employed. I will most likley go in undecided though, since i'm only 17, and I really don't think I'm ready to make my decision on my major.

Have you taken the SAT? What is your gpa? Do you participate in extracurricular activities? So far, Ithaca C sounds like a good possibility for exercise science. Maybe Springfield College.

When my friend's mom went to Clark it was pretty much the hotbed of the revolution; doesn't quite sound like your cup of tea although I'm sure it has changed a great deal. Also, its rundown Massachussets town setting doesn't sound like a change at all.

I've considered those scools as well collegehelp. But again, excercise science is just an idea. Its relativley doubtful that I'll major in it. Umass is nice, but huge, and a party school(not exactly my type) I would like a school with a really nice. comfortable campus. Thats why i chose Ithaca, and CUA. Also, U of Tampa is on my list, but it kind of doubtful as well, because it's 24hour car ride to get there.(But the 8,000$ scholarship for a 3.2GPA sounds lovley, if I can bring it up to that by Senior Year)
