Also, my D has been offered a very generous fa package.

I am very happy for your daughter, it is obvious that she must have had something very special. However, she is the exception, most students who get accepted into Andover do not have 68% SSATs. It is nice to know that the schools are looking at the whole student when making their decisions. Congratulations to your daughter!!

I was accepted into Andover with a 88 SSAT and I'm still trying to figure out why. I didn't really think my "stats" were that high. I would have actually been happy with just 1 acceptance between the 5 schools I applied to. Now I have to choose between 3 top-tier schools...... but I'm still trying to figure out just what about me stood out so much.

Wow.. you must've had some hook! :) Are you really good at sports? Play some instrument? Or maybe you're just amazingly extraordinary, haha.

lemonkids, thanks..
well
i got rejected.
im sad
lol

PS: accepted at 3 top schools with SSATs of only 2000. play 3 sports competitively and french horn. Going to Deerfield.

Deerfield is a great school. Congrats! What sports do you play?

Dear HeWasNumber1,
You are still extraordinary and would be an asset to any academic institution. In retrospect it seems that the interview is key. I was rejected by my "safety" school which accepts 3 times as many students as Deerfield. Don't take rejection personally. You will succeed easily while I have to work hard for success.

I got 1980 on SSAT, play bunch of competitive sports and play piano and just started French horn. Got waitlisted at Peddie.

yo!son: I play soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Lax probably helped the most.

Deerfield seems to be a lax powerhouse!
What do ssat scores in the 1980-2000 range translate to percentage wise?

Mine was about 39%.

that's amazing, but i don't think that andover really considers SSAt scores to be extremely important.
At taft, maybe, but not andover.
I got a 65 in readin, 95 in english, and 89 in math, and i got into andover

itsren -- what was your overall score (not the national one)? It would be a good reference for next year's applicants.
