If you read my post in the "Teacher Characteristics" thread then you sorta know my situation...

ok...Today me and my Advanced/Gifted Chemistry teacher got into an argument...

after finishing taking an extra long test on Lab Safety and having to memorize the syllabus she comes out of nowhere with a notebook check...now let me remind you that the class just started on Monday...so...when she calls my name I bring my notebook up to her and she opens it up and sees that I have no dividers then says she's giving me a grade of ZERO for it...so then I ask her exactly WHEN she went over the notebook guidelines and divider setup then she says that she told us on Monday and every other day of the week...then I politely tell her that she never even mentioned anything about a notebook...and guess what...EVERYONE in the class agreed with me so clearly if she DID go over the stuff then no one heard her...so...here's the rest of the conversation...

Teacher: (raising voice at me) LISTEN! I already have 4 degrees and you only have a kindergarten degree...so don't argue with me

Me: I just asked you a question because I'm not going to accept a zero when you never went over this...

Teacher: Don't argue with me son!

Me: You're supposed to be professional...not acting like a student...but it seems as if you're going to keep arguing so I'll just stop...

Teacher: Whatever...I...Don't...Care...

I was SO fired up...and I NEVER argue/fight with other people especially teachers...that's absolutely out of my character...but at that moment I wanted to slam her head into the lab table...and to make it even worse I was supposed to be in Anatomy this semester anyway...

! That freaking stupid teacher. I would have been sooo *ed off. Wow that it is total crap. If she honestly gives you a zero because you don't have dividers that she never specified to get, I would go to my assistant principal. Also, if there are any other gifted chemistry classes you can transfer into that are taught by a different teacher I would try and go for that.... I wouldnt be able to stand that woman for a semester.

My advice would have been to accept the zero for the time being, and consult the teacher after class... I have never known anybody who likes to be told off infront of a group of people, most people (and yes, teachers are people) react best to things like that if it is a one on one conversation.

yeah thats true... but that would be kind of hard. but I understand how he could have been fired up. If I were in his place I wouldn't have been able to control myself, but then again i have somewhat of an anger problem sometimes... hehe (as you can tell by the censoring in my last post)

omg, that **** ******* teacher!!!!!!!!!! i'm so sorry about what happened. anyhow, you're waaaaaaaaaaaaaay smarter that that stupid ******* bean bag. i would've been soooo ****ed off!!!

She actually just gave us the syllabus TODAY...and yes that had the information on it...but clearly if she gave the notebook check today it was too late to update my notebook...then to make it worse she started saying "I even told you all how to make dividers if you didn't have any"...she's a damn liar...she never even mentioned a notebook...so after the argument the bell rang and she said we can come 45 minutes before school starts on Monday to turn in the notebook then...but the max grade we can get is a 75%...????...she KNEW she was wrong...but I'll definitely be there to get my 75...and I'm still gonna ask my counselor for a schedule change...
My friend who took her Physical Science class last year said she lost most of the work he turned in and then called his parents CRYING ON THE PHONE saying that he has so much potential...she's clearly missing a few screws...
