my turn! my turn! chance meeee D:!

i'm currently a senior D:!
oh gosh. im scared. puahaha .
this is how i view the level of difficulty... im not sure. please correct me if you disagree!
1) barnard college
2) university of virginia (out-of-state)
3) george washington university
4) trinity college
5) university of delaware (in-state)
6) liberty university.

and... i think i'll apply to baylor and nyu and unc just for the heck of it if i have time...?

my infooo (i'm approximating based on my mid-11th grade stats and my final grades from last year):
+i'm full korean
+my unweighted gpa ('cause my school doesn't weight) should be 92.something. no less than that. BLAHHHH. as much as i would like to make excuses for my gpa... i shall not XX;;
+ by the end of this school year, i will have taken 7 APs (my school doesn't have any honor classes or whatever)
+ my SAT scores suck (1730 D i do plan on taking them again in october. &i actually plan to be studying my butt off for once >. i hope to get at least 1900...
+ as for extra curriculars... bleh. soccer 1 year, i did lighting and sound for stage crew 1 (possibly 2 years this year), JCL (latin club) for two years, student council for 4 years, blue and gold club (helping mentally challenged students) for 4 years, TSA (made states and went to nationals) for 2 years, FCA, Junior Achievement (business club) vice president, NHS, various mission trips, and i'm also very involved at church (praise band, powerpoints and whatnot) and also within the youth group (president for a number of years now).
+ i think last time i checked... i was like... 51 out of 500 -__-;; ... now it may have gone down a LOT because we've have a significant drop in class size... like 466? last time i checked... but then i heard from someone it was 400 now... o0
+my brother has graduated from UVA if that makes any difference...

the way i see it right now, i prolly only get into liberty (DEFFFFFF.) and ud (my two safety schools). and the others ... not so much? if i get a ~1900 what do you guys think?

and would you suggest any other schools? (and yes, money is a factor... given that i get into them, uva, trinity, barnard, and ud would give me full needs based aid... gwu: ~95%, and liberty: 81% according to CB)
oh & i'm thinking about majoring in gov't, polisci, int'l relations. that kinda stuff. (haven't decided yet :/)

andandand i was going to apply EA for uva... is that a bad idea... o_0??????

pleasepleasepleaseplease&thanks .

THANKS GUYS. -_-;;
lololl.

OK – so,

Grades – translates to 3.7-ish
Ranking – top 10%
SAT – currently 1730, hoping for 1900
ECs – look ok

As it stands, I think your assessment is probably correct. Pull the SATs up to 1900, maybe Trinity, perhaps GW also become ‘matches’ or near matches.

You’re a classic “high grade” “low test” person, which says nothing about you as a student. Some people just don’t test as well as their ability. Unfortunately, Barnard, UVa, GW, seem to accept students with both high grades and high SATs.

Still, there’s nothing wrong with applying to a couple of them, it only costs an application fee and a couple of hours of your time, and you never know. You may want to think of filling in with a few schools that admit many students with your profile, just in case. Your GC should be able to help you there.

Good luck!!

thank youuuu!! :D.

do you have any schools you would suggest?
i’m trying hard to find more match/back up schools… but the ones i find, i’m not really interested in any of them… :(.
but thanks for the reply!
