Hello everyone!

I am currently awaiting admission decisions to:
Cal
UCI
UCSD
UCD

I got rejected to UCSB.
I know my application to Cal is a longshot, but I'm putting my hopes in their "holistic" approach.

My overall UC GPA is 3.06.

I believe my personal statement was good. I did not mention any "hardtime" stories though, but I was straight-forward and I think I showed my intentions well. I've done a good amount of extra-curricular activities. I was president of a club for two years and participated in many school government committees. I was in two of my college's music ensembles. I also have an upward grade trend. I wasn't doing too well my first two semesters with some D's and C's, but I received all A's in my 5 classes last semester and I am doing well in my current semester.

I applied as a TAG applicant to UCSB but I wasn't able to finish my TAG requirements.
I also did not apply to any CSU's which I regret.

I know of someone who got admitted to Cal with a 3.0-something GPA because of an upward grade trend, but everything seems so cloudy.

Anyways, does anyone have experiences transferring to these UC's with low GPA's?
Also, I am a Communication/Media Studies major. Any other non-UC schools that are easy to transfer too? I am not planning on staying at CC for another year.
