Total Costs
(Fee portion of Costs= $9,231 these fees are subject to change) $24,841

Expected Family Contribution (EFC) $7,401

Estimated UCR Financial Need (total cost minus EFC) $17,440

My Gift Aid

(Grants and scholarships that do not have to be repaid) $10,640

My Loan/Work Aid

(Educational loans and student employment) $6,800

My Net Cost

(Total Cost minus Gift Aid) $14,201

Total Estimated Aid Resources to meet my UCR costs $17,440

So does my family only pay $7,401?

No, you pay (Total Cost - GIFT AID), which means money you get for free.

Loans = you borrow money but eventually will have to pay back. Work Aid = They give you a job and you basically work off the debt, so technically not free money.

technically that is only what you have to pay for this year but like he said loans have to be paid back.
