I'm a senior from the HS in California. I moved to the US from Taiwan for almost 3 years till April.

I have a 3.5 unweighted HS GPA (weighted will be 3.7)
My SAT scores are so-so (1600~1700)

I applied to most the UCs but I only got in UCSC D:
And also I got in CSULB, SJSU...and NYU (but it's too expensive x_x

My interest is majoring in Art (painting, illustration, or design)

So far most the people tell me to go to a community college then transfer to UCLA...

I am just wondering if I can go to a CSU then transfer to UCLA? or I should just go to a community college and then transfer??

Please help me Dx

(btw I'm not a US citizen

if you look on uc admission websites, they do say that community college students get priority in the admissions process

Ni Hao Peng Yo!

Go to a Community College if you want to transfer to UCLA, it’s much easier to transfer from a Community College to UCLA than it is from a CSU.

CSU’s are pathetic (Cal Poly excluded). All of my professors teach at a CSU and i looked at their syllabus… SAME THING. why pay way more just for the same education?

Community College definitely, but try to maintain a 4.0 and do lots of extra currics. You’re an international student so you’re going to have less priority than US citizens. A spotless application is going to help a lot.

Agree with everyone here. You’ll have more of a shot going to CCC than a CSU’s.

Best of luck! [:
