So close!
Simon Fraser in BC
Hmmm… maybe then that bridge is from Reed?
My guess - CUNY.
The banner in the top photo gives it away - UMD.
Correct, University of Maryland.
Oregon if my animal house trivia is right?
Funny, I was about to post an image, “Animal House,” and here it is. I don’t think anyone could ID the campus where this frat house is located in, so some hints are in order:
Not in Oregon.
This frat house was featured in one of Dustin Huffman’s movies.
Yes! It’s from Reed.
Top = W&L?
Presumably, you mean this fraternity house (in a 2019 photograph):
The movie in question is The Graduate, although not all college scenes were shown on or near the same campus.
I thought about you when I posted the frat house photo, but your own photo response came as a big pleasant surprise. Apparently, the Cal administrators at the time would not permit the Graduate to be filmed anywhere inside the Sather Gate, so the actual Berkeley scenes were shot just outside the Sather Gate, the frat house, Caffe Mediterraneum, etc. whereas the on campus scenes, where Benjamin was stalking Elaine, were shot on the USC campus.
There was at least one on-campus scene on the main UCB campus, although it is on the “outside” of Sather Gate (which is not at the edge of campus). At the beginning of the scene in this video clip, the students (including Elaine) were walking away from Sather Gate (compare with easily findable photos of it), but were still on the UCB campus (Sproul Plaza area, although it does not look like there was a protest going on at the time in the 1960s). The then-distinctive trash cans (gray boxes in metal frames) were also present.
However, there were other scenes at USC.
One other noticeable inaccuracy in the movie was driving “to Berkeley” on the upper deck of the Bay Bridge.
Rochester
And there are no bells to announce the start/end of class. And the Gaviota Tunnel does not carry southbound traffic.
Oh, and that’s not Anne Bancroft’s leg in the iconic poster; it’s Linda Gray’s.
Yes - you were correct @ University of Oregon ….I mean Faber!
