For those who don't know, nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and pretty much is me attempting to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days (november) nanowrimo.org or ywp.nanowrimo.org (young writers site) for more info.
This may sound crazy, particularly as I'm attempting to apply to prep school at the same time, but it's great, and really helps my speed writing skills
So are there any other people crazy enough to do this too? It's pretty popular, so I wouldn't be surprised...

i love NaNo!
this is my second year, and it’s really a lot of fun, since you get pep talks from famous authors. Last year, my favorite was Lemony Snicket, and i can’t wait for this year!

I’m doing it!

This will be my 4th year!

I’m doing it next year. It’s awesome

Has anyone “won?”

I would do it, but I need to pass all my classes. Hahaha.

I’ll try to do it… if I have time haha. Anyone have a link to the official rules for this thingy?

It is really fun. I have a great idea for a story but idk if I’m going to be able to achieve the goal with school and EC’s.

you just go to nanowrimo.com
and it has everything!

@Horsey7959- Yup! 3 times!

I won two years ago, when i was 12, but last year kind sucked
and its nanowrimo.org :)

So yeah I signed up…now what do I do?

Everythings explained on the site, but basically you just start writing
Theres also a box to update your wordcount, nanovideos, forums etc, which I probably spend more time on procrastinating than actually writing, but thats life

I LOVE NaNoWriMo as well
Writing is a (somewhat secret) passion of mine; I actually wrote my common app essay about writing and NaNo!
And a random note: My creative writing teacher was/is trying to organize a group to participate this November, and it was hilarious to hear the people on the announcements trying to pronounce NaNoWriMo. There was so much hesitant pausing, as well as the failures of “na no wri moo” and “na no wree moh”. I had to stop myself from laughing ~___~

Oh, and I get extra credit for doing it this year! I’m so excited, if you couldn’t already tell . . .!

LOVE IT SO FAR! My first time doing it. I’ve been procrastinating terribly though. I’m only at like 3,000 words, lol.

@ZombieDante: Start writing! Use Word or whatever else you want to use and hit 50000 words by the end of the month.

I’m only at 300 words… :/

WHY DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS CRAZINESS!?

Haven’t even started…! Will start on Monday, hopefully!

Is it true that if you hit the required 50,000 words, you get a free printed manuscript? My friend told me so, but I couldn’t find it on the website!

I’m at 4000 words… but I’m trying to hit 10,000 by the end of the weekend.

Wow! You want to be finished in one weekend? That’s crazy! Good luck!
