Naps 08

Yo everybody, I'm at NAPS right now, so if any of ya'll are headed for the class of 2012 and have any questions, post 'em and I'll answer them as best as I can...

Rosa, Out...

Since no one else is man enough to ask (only kidding) what were your stats in highschool and how is overall life at naps?

In high school i had a 3.8 gpa, 42 out of 300. I took AP Spanish, US History, US Government. Honors Classes, I was an A and B student except for precal (C). I was active in extracurriculars, Eagle Scout, Radio Talk Show Host, Author of Death is Painless my sophomore year (novel from Barnes and Nobles), ran track, played baseball, bagpiper for the scottish heratige society, and outward bound.

NAPS life is actually not as bad as others here would make it seem...the saying goes "a happy sailor is a bi*tchin sailor" so overall our life here is great. Indoc was not nearly as tough as anyone thought, the academic year is actually fun, we go to classes, sports period, chow, study hour, then sleep. On the weekends we get liberty after inspection on Friday to 1830 on Fridays, and if you have good grades you can get unlimited overnight liberty, but even if your grades arent that great (like mine), if you keep submitting chits every weekend, they don't count how many overnights you have.

The pay is great here, $330 on the 1st and 15th of every month, so save for the $2500 admission fee to USNA. They talk to you about that a lot here.

Other than that, if you have any specific questions, or questions in general, just post something...

what time of year did you get your naps offer?

I found out from my BGO in October of my Senior Year, but that is not the norm...a lot of the people here at NAPS received theirs much later, like in March or April of their Senior Year

What were your test scores?

I got a 680 verbal and a 580 math
