Naps

My son, who is enlisted Navy, just returned from a cruise to the Persian Gulf, when he got word that he had been accepted at NAPS. He is ecstatic, and we are so proud of him and thankful for this amazing opprotunity he has been given.

Congrats!!!

Yeehaw! That's wonderful!

OUTSTANDING!

Let's hope he gets into Platoon 2-2. They're the best! :D

<-- NAPS '87, Platoon 2-2. ;)

Congratulations,
tttdz, what ship is he attached to?

He was attached to the USS Theodore Roosevelt, which returned on 3/11.
Has anyone heard of any other enlistees going to NAPS?

tttdz - you have every right to bust your buttons over your son! He will bring to other mids at USNA something that will benefit everyone he knows. If you read any other threads, you might come across my comments about my daughter's Squad Leader from last year's Summer Seminar. He was enlisted subs 3 years, then NAPS, then his Plebe year...

Last June, as the ceremony for the close of NASS #2 was over, we happened to be walking with this young man and his Squad, including my daughter back to Bancroft Hall. Simply by watching his demeanor I commented to my husband that is was no ordinary college freshman. I guess being a mom of 5 who had already launched 4 into college gave me some experience in this arena...Anyway, as we are waiting for our daughter to get her gear we had a wonderful conversation with this wonderful American and learned what I've shared.

Our daughter later told us some of the things he shared with them came directly from his years enlisted in the fleet - how one night he got his kids up and took them to Memorial Hall, and other places on the Yard to discuss Naval HIstory and why being at the Academy is a worthy goal...

It was his older age and maturity that made him a remarkable leader, teacher and soon to be Naval Officer

I have no doubt your son is in this same mold...
Congratulations!!!

If you plan on coming to Plebe Parent's weekend in August and want to join our parent's get together on sunday Aug. 13th for dinner after all is said and done with our Plebes...send me an email: peskemom@yahoo.com

Welcome aboard to the parent's of USNA Class 2010!

Peskemom- You're so excited....that you lost track of tttdz's perspective. He will be class of 2011. ;)

tttdz - Congratulations to your son! Welcome aboard!
