I'm a high school senior from Wyoming looking at liberal arts colleges across the nation, and I'm also currently applying for a Questbridge scholarship. Out of all the Questbridge colleges, I've narrowed my choices down to Amherst, Bowdoin, Princeton, Wesleyan, and Vassar. I'd like to major in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing, and possibly minor in Visual Arts. What makes Vassar stand out among the other colleges, and would it be a good choice for my major? I'd love input from anyone on this matter.

Depends on what you’re looking for.

Vassar has a great English department, is by far the prettiest campus on your list and has a library like a cathedral. They have a great theatre department.

Amherst is probably the best college town on your list, having 5 schools within 15 minutes of each other.

Princeton is obviously great in most disciplines, but is crazy hard to get into.

Bowdoin has a great history in English and writing.

And Wesleyan I think has just built a new creative writing center, and has a pretty nice campus of its own.

I’d also include some schools that bill themselves as “writing” colleges. I’d recommend you take a look at Hamilton. And since all of the schools on your list are highly selective, you’d probably want to add some less selective colleges, just in case.

Good Luck.
