NASA SHARP Alumni:

This is an announcement that, after 26 years, NASA will cease its funding of NASA SHARP. For those who are still recruiting students for pre-college science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) programs, you are encouraged to broaden your web searches to other pre-college, college intern or STEM work study programs elsewhere. There are many opportunities available for those interested in tracking them down on the web.

Email and phone access to NASA SHARP at MTSI will terminate after September 30, 2005. There will no longer be any Apprentice Surveys mailed out.

This country is in need of youth inspired to pursue STEM careers.

Please do your part to assist NASA and the nation in recruiting the next generation of explorers.

Good luck.

:(

yep. after attending sharp this last summer and realizing how great it was, this really is a bummer for people who wanted to attend in the future. however, some people (such as some of the program managers at my university) are fighting to regain funding for the program.

Yeah, that really sucks. I was hoping to apply for it this year (I'm a junior). Looks like I'll stick to MITES and local internships.
